Have you heard of photographers that they went on a trip with a certain lens, and then they come back complaining that they found something they couldn’t really catch with that lens? Sure, you don’t want to carry too much with you. I personally do not even like to bring a backpack. The thing is, with a P30 Pro you have all you need in your pocket. To a certain extend of course! 50x zoom, super macro, wide angle, background blur, PLUS super stable night shots and 4K videos. The most appreciated properties for me are portrait mode and night mode, where you can really shine with your results. You can literally take a shot in the dark, free hand, and get an image that looks like shot in daylight! And the portraits will look like from a professional, even a face detector is there.
The zoom, and the macros are so-so to be honest. There are lots of macros coming in the next posts, and the ones in good light and with not-so-small objects should be ok. Closer and darker conditions will results in very blurry pictures unfortunately. But hey, I’m sure I’ll post some of them as well.. Having this camera ready in the pocket any time is the beauty of it. The zoom works fantastic for full moon shots! Zooming on Planet Earth however is ok, but hardly something you would show. For sure no stunning animal pictures are possible, but it can help to identify objects.
