Hard to believe that this kind of digital camera already had to make way for handphones. That was a short show! This camera was my first digital one ever, so for me, it will always be something special.
After many unsuccessful trials with analog compact cameras for macro shots (!!!) in my childhood, my first digital camera with 5 megapixels and 2cm macro range was a dream coming true! I got it in early 2006 but it has been introduced in 2004 already. A workmate recommended it and I had the chance to take some pictures with his camera first. The fancy-looking sliding lens-cover was a bit annoying after a while, but the resulting pictures were absolutely satisfying that time. Doors wide open to pic my bugs!
If I remember correctly the sliding mechanism was in the end the cause of death for my first digital camera. And many deaths would follow…
